Hi - I was wondering if you are able to buy a 2011/2012 Volvo V60 from outside of the united states and have it brought to the united states? Is that allowed? Thanks.|||YOur biggest issue will be regestration and emissions. You're obviously gona have to figure out how the paper work process works and going through customs. which may end up costing you a lot of money. But the biggest worry is then smogging it and keeping it passing smog tests.
In california for example, emission requirments are big/high so this volvo would not pass. When someone gets a car from the factory or through the european delivery program, thwy tell the dealer/factory center that they "have intent to register in the united states (be specific what state it will be in because each state has its own requirments)" THat way they will install the proper engine management system, catalytic converter and oxygen sensors to match the federal government requirments so you are able to register it. You can also look into an "out of state emissions pass" but it may be hard to get/be a temprorary thing/not offered by all states.
Just get the all new Saab 9-5 sports combi (wagon). such a sick and awesome car. Beats the volvo.|||Sure, but it will cost a lot of money to deal with customs and shipping. Contact US customs or a Volvo dealer to get on the right track for info.
