How do you turn off the daytime running lights in a volvo?

I just bought a 2000 volvo V70, and even when the light switch is at 0 the daylights are on. Can you turn them off? Talk about inconvenient.|||They are there for a safety reason. The human eye is automatically attracted to light thus making the effort to insure the other drivers will see you. The vehicle is designed to run with them on.

Now

having said that if you really want them off (not recommended) you could locate the fuse for D.R.L and remove it.|||DRL's are a safety device, if you disable them, you will have to turn your headlights on manually in a rain storm during the day. DRL's also help prevent highway hypnosis of oncoming traffic because it makes them drift to the center rumble strip.

I won't buy a car without them. Don't disable them.
